On buying PCs, Suggestions for a new Rig~

i plan to buy a pc. i moved away from my parents' house and need a rig of my own to continue playin World of Warcraft, and DotA online.
i've been checkin the classifieds in this forum. found a couple of pc's which i know can play WoW.

my dilemma: i'm kinda strapped on cash. and i want a pc which i hopfuly can play Starcraft 2 as well.

nway, i was hopin to get AMD coz i know it's cheaper, and good for gaming (i think).

..do you think it's a good deal?

if you can point me to a good thread for a good playin pc, that will be great. or if you think i should buy a brand new one, give me specs and a possible price range.

for a cpu.. 10k to 15k probably. is that too low?

i just have a question. what's the cheapest rig that i could setup today that would play the most recent games and apps decently. i'm planning to upgrade maybe next year to a quad core, x38 board and geforce 9x series when their prices stabilize. but right now, i'm just itching for my first build.
