AESTHETICS: If you value look above else, a french window in wood colors will give your cabin a rustic look. If you'll use metal casement on this, it will corrode and hinges will be a problem. It squeaks a lot. Also metal won't hold a glass well so expect movement and it won't be noise resistant. But the great thing w/ steel casement windows is that it is safer from intruders breaking glass windows. There are high-end french windows that uses uPVC..expect a very high price.
COST. When expense matters most, and I don't mean just the price of material but the overall, go for Jalouplus windows. It gives 100% opening..it means passive air flow.. you'll minimize aircon cost. Actually, it is the best window type for the tropics. Jalouplus also gives a better look than our old jalousies. Its plastic holder keeps the glass blades well from movement. Cheap in overall.
The sliding windows gives only 50% airflow at maximum so its a bummer. On design, its very flat, no art at all. Though it looks nice for many..not for me though..Im already tired looking at it.
