    Default New Installation of a 128MB - Inno3d GeForce FX 5200

    help...

i've installed a new video card (128MB - Nvidia Inno3d GeForce FX 5200) to my system. The problem is, it only says 64MB, what to do?

    Here are my system specs:

    Motherboard : AsusP4VP-MX
    Processor : Intel Pentium 4 (2.4 Ghz)
    Memory : 512MB

Any help would be much appreciated.

Oh and by the way, i've already tried resetting the CMOS. No luck though.

return it and have it replaced.

... it has nothing to do with the rest of your system.

its funny because this card works with another system. it was an ecs motherboard and it sees it as a 128 MB video card unlike mine.

REMOVE existing driver on your system and then install graphics card. then install the driver from the original cd. then you can update the driver to latest nvidia drivers.

using updated nvidia drivers without first installing the manufacturer supplied drivers may result in misreporting of the total memory the gfx card has.

yeah, i think you got the point pero if you install a new hardware, makita man nimo inig boot sa imong PC just before the startup screen you'd see something like your vide card on the upper left hand of the monitor that states 128MB or something depending on your Video Card installed?

mine states 64MB only, and i have 128MB installed. i think it is somewhat related to the BIOS. can anyone confirm my guess? if so, anyone here who knows how to update or reflash BIOS? thank you very much for your response.

Yup, try BIOS upgrade . Or to be safe, try asking sa Inno3d's support. They usually answer your queries promptly

hmmmm... try to update bios and check if AGP 8x or 4x is enabled. most probably just a bios problem.

you dont need to update the bios on your gfx card because it works well on another machine. maybe you need a bios update on your motherboard (most unlikely to solve the problem)

bios updates on motherboards are veeeerryyyyy easy to use. just go to the motherboards manufacturers website (asus.com)and download the bios update specific for your motherboard, the flasher and read the (usually very short) documentation.
