Poe on anti-Duterte ads: Wala yatang pinakita na di totoo
Presidential candidate and former censors chief Grace Poe on Friday said she sees nothing wrong with the negative political ads against Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, which showed children reacting to Duterte's curse words and other controversial remarks.
Poe, a former chairwoman of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, spoke out on the controversial ads, which drew flak after airing on TV networks on Thursday.
Poe has seen her campaign eclipsed by a surge in popularity of the crime-busting Duterte, 71, mayor of Davao city in the south of the country, and called a news conference on Friday to shoot down speculation she would pull out and back Manuel Roxas, the chosen successor of President Benigno Aquino III.
Poe used a stronger tone than usual and took aim at Roxas for working in a failed government and said Duterte's "disturbing" talk of extrajudicial killings had to be stopped.
