Thanks guys.
the discussions here would be biased unless we have experience on both products..
TS, if you have a specific induction cooker in mind, i think, it would be great for you to start calculating the energy use then how much you would be shedding per month. i was going to post that i prefer butane because induction cookers has 2000W power rating but it turns out that it seems induction is cheaper per meralco (Meralco | Ang Liwanag ng Bukas).
buy an induction cooker. than that portable butane stove.
you can buy induction cooker now for less than 2k.
average induction cookers in the market about 1800 watts. if cost per kwh is at 11 pesos. considering if you run the induction cooker at full power 1800 watts for the whole hour 1.8 * 11 = 19.80 pesos/ hour. (cost per hour if cooker is turned on at 100% power)
portable stove can be bought by less than 1k canister around 60 pesos per 220 gram canister. considering if you run the portable stove at full power it consumes around 120 grams per hour of fuel. at .27 cents per gram 120 grams per hour .27 * 120 = 32.72 pesos per hour.
there you go t.s
Butane canister refilled with LPG, gi pang sell as low as 24 to 25 each,,that will change the story,,but ang thing to watch kay difference between LPG and butane gas,,pareho raman ni maka hubog ug ma hadlok mo maka enhale ani testinge lng
Intawon TS ayaw pag lata ug baka unless mag uling ka,,hehehe
no probs. go for induction na more energy efficient no open flames
as for kung cost effective ba mag lata ug baka sa induction cooker i would say yes.
remember you only have to turn the induction at full power up to boiling at 100c. once boiling you can reduce the power to 30% for a slow simmer still temperature is maintained at 100c without wasting energy. provided that you use the lid of the pot to cover it to avoid necessary heat lost. say it would take you 30 mins of full power to bring the pot to boil that is 9.9 pesos. and another 2 and a half hours at 30% power around 14.85 pesos and a total of 24.75 pesos to cook a very tough cut of meat to fork tender in 3 hours time. it's actually not that bad. more or less perahas ra na sa mag pa andar ka ug 1 hp na aircon for 2.5 hours. tagpila na ang supot sa uling ron? pila ka putos imong mahurot sa 3 ka oras? mag aso aso pa ang balay.
