My friends and family have been receiving text messages about a strong earthquake that's supposed to be coming, and it even has the gall to attribute it to Phivolcs. This is what I sent them in reply:
Please spread the word to your family & friends to counter the work of these fear mongerers. Remember the tsunami scare of last year. Such rumors are the work of evil men.There's a rumor going around that there will be a big earthquake coming. That rumor is false. No method exists which allows us to predict earthquakes, particularly the intensity. Phivolcs can't do it, the USGS can't do it, the ESCM can't do it. Be alert, but don't be carried away by fear-mongering.

If the west valley fault will move, they expect all Visayan especially Boholanos to prepare for the ( 8.0 magnitude )!!!Which will also affect CEBU!!!...Please pray and be strong everyone to whatever it is that comes our pray... this is really scarry..but Please be alert and be prepared!!!!... Pero kung mo predict nga with time, location and magnitude... Aws... Salida na sya...
Maskin ako pwede ko mo predict.... Dali ra kaau oi...hehehe... Wala lay orasay.... Madala pa location ug magnitude...
