Nahan kaau ko mahimung software tester..but i'm from a different specialization/Field...Naa mu suggestion unsa una buhaton para makat-on pagka software tester..Nag plan ko mu-attend ug software testing class dri sa Cebu..Worldtech ang name sa skul..

Im not sure kung useful pa ni ang akoa input para ka TS. Pero basin naa mga IT/CS grads pa diha na maka-benifit ani.

Ayaw padala sa discouragement sa imo instructor. Kung unsa imo gusto nimo na career path maoy sunda. Software Development and Software Testing are 2 different careers. Siguro imo instructor kaedad pa ni mampor.hehe, just kidding! Bitaw, sa pagkatinoud lang, mga 10yrs ago, during my OJT years. Layo ra gyud kaayo ang gap sa mga Software Testers and Programmers, at that time murag langit og yuta ang gilay-on. Mostly man sad gud sa mga software tester opportunities before diha sa cebu kay plainly functional and ui testing.

Pero nag-evolve naman ang industry karon, naa naman ang mga automation, perfomance/load and security testers na at par or mas dako pa ang sweldo kaysa mga programmers. As mentioned ni bai @basa^2, mas flexible or agile ang testers bisan asa nimo ilabay na environment or programming language dali ra maka-adapt, pare-pareho ra man gud na ang process and way of testing different types of applications. Kung magkadugay sad ka sa industry ang different exposure sa mga applications, magkamahal sad ang imo balor sa imo company or other company. Tinoud sad ang iya sulti na naa na nagsweldo 100K na software testers diri sa pinas. Take note, manual testing pa na unsa pa kaha ang automated, di ba? Pero lisud2x sad gyud hinoun sudlon ni na mga company kinahanglan gyud og taas2x na work experience ug industry exposure.

Based on my observation, mas maayo kung adept imo knowledge with regards to manual testing before jumping to automation testing. Naa ko kauban diri, wala kaayo manual experience nederecho automation testing. Kabalo cya mocode pero walay better understanding sa flow sa system. Compared sa bag-uhay ra namo na nakauban, though beginner pa sa coding pero mas lawm ang iya knowledge sa systems na amoa gigamit. As observe, mas nag-improve ang amoa kauban na beginner pa sa coding compared sa kabalo mo-code pero with less manual testing experience. Im not sure kung isolated case ra ni kay most automation engineers I know have at least 2years of manual testing experience.

Dili lang kaayo nako taason kay mostly covered naman ang tanan sa previous post. Basta sunda ang imo heart, ayaw sa trabaho na feeling nimo nagtrabaho ka. Ang mas maayo kung na-enjoy nimo ang imo trabaho para dili ka mapul-an.

mo amen ko nimo ana boss hehe. dako2 najud diay imong sweldo dha boss sa. abut nag 200k hehe. sa imong gi ingon boss nga depende sa gi sugdan, kay murag sa sagaran course karon sa IT/CS naa namay quality churva. he he. so sa kini lang, makat-unan nmo ang mga basics sa sdlc ug uban pa. (theoretically lng) pero naa jd ka basic understanding sa testing ug sa sdlc. kay mao man jd na dapat baruganan. siguro wa siya nka abut niini boss pero sagaran major subjects pag abut ug year 2000 gi apil naman ni. pero mao lagi, boring sa mga studyante kay theory rajud. kapoy memorize ba. ha ha ha. or basi ni evolve napud ilang curriculum ron boss nga pde rka dli mu kuha ani nga subject.

pero ang standard sa industry ug pananglitan junior/grad ka mka sulod kag automation testing, di ka dapat ipa dive dritso kundi i-training ka software testing fundamentals

usa pd boss dpende pd na sa taw. kay sagaran nako kaila nga technical (kanang mga dev/mo code) kay dli kaayo gnahan ug theory ug mu sunod sa methodologies. ang mga dli technical kaayo kay dali rapud kaayo sila makat-on ana.

When its about testing there is always a need of going through the one that helps us with getting how perfectly something can move ahead which is fine enough in my opinion.
Dealing with them like the Scrum is its truly a very fine thing which works on testing because i have personally experienced it uses works for sure especially for project management.

We are now in the Age of IOT (Internet of things) . Lapad jud ni nga technology ug scope in terms of Platform, Devices, software, etc etc. So para natung mga QA, dapat prepared ta kung mahimu. Update sa knowledge ug experience..

Based sa akung current company karun nga nag cater aning iOT, mao ni mga available sa mga QA..
-FW testing
-Wireless Protocol testing - Wifi, Zwave, ZigBee, JenNet, etc etc..
-Cloud and Web Testing (Backend)
-ug ang pinaka Kusog karun, Ang MOBILE app testing..
