If you are talking to the Philippines YES you don't pay religious taxes. You know why? Majority can't even afford to eat 3 times a day that's why.

Go to Germany, Switzerland, Austria and others, Once a year you get a bill(religious tax) from the Catholic to pay. The money will not go to the government but to the Catholic faith.

So in short, You pay taxes to the government and religious taxes to the Catholic faith. Unless mo ana ka nga ang Catholic sa Germany dili pareha sa Catholic diri sa Pinas.

You are right, only in the Philippines and some other countries doesn't require Church tax. Back to Germany and other parts of Europe, Church tax is being imposed to its members because it is a law of their land. The gov't like Germany imposes or giving the Church to ask for tax to its members. Not just the Catholics, even Protestants, Islam are also required to pay taxes to their Churches. It's their LAW. In Austria, Hitler itself imposes the law for the church to collect taxes. Most of the European gov't as I've understand is they wanted to help the church. It is also their tradition.

Article 137 of the Weimar Constitution of 1919 and article 140 of the German Basic Law of 1949 are the legal basis for this practice.

In Germany, on the basis of tax regulations passed by the communities and within the limits set by state laws, communities may either

- require the taxation authorities of the state to collect the fees from the members on the basis of income tax assessment (then, the authorities withhold a collection fee), or
- choose to collect the church tax themselves.

Now, what you did is, you didn't specify why those churches are asking for taxes in Europe. You tend to destroy the image of the Catholic church by twisting the story. This is what others did like you, trying to destroy the images of the religion specifically Catholics. You are one of the DISGRUNTLED ex-Catholic. And I say you are a NOMINAL CATHOLIC before. That's why you didn't learn from it

I can't force you to live a normal life and free from religious complications. You have the right to choose between GOOD and EVIL. The bad thing is you are destroying the image of a religion. I, as Catholic, even I find some evil to some religions, sect, cult and etc including atheist instead I kept it for myself and pray for them especially you that you will be enlighten and going to put down the others.
