so far haven't encountered problems installing and running games on Windows 8 64bit
In fact starcraft 1 runs better on Windows 8.
i recall nga sa Windows 7 64 bit i had to launch the game via a .bat file para dili ma distort ang intro graphics.

for those having problems w/ installing netframework 3.5 w/c is required by some games and apps
you can install online from Micrsoft or via installation media.
for some windows' games you must update your game for windows live client.

hmmm Ship Simulator Extreme + Update and DLC gets stuck on loading screen w/ Windows 8
minus the update and DLC ok ra.

it's a buggy game to begin with

im currently using Win7 ultimate 64 bit and so far i haven't countered any issues that you have mentioned bro.

i think sa imong computer settings na or sa starcraft nga program nmo.
