    Default Mutual Funds VS UITF


    Assuming that you know the difference between Mutual Funds and UITFs, which one has more returns?

    depends on the fund or fund manager
    recently, some UITF are outperforming Mutual funds...

    UITF has a 20% withholding tax so even if it may have a higher return than mutual fund it will be offset by the withholding tax.

    not really.
    the posted navpu of UITF are already net of taxes if you want to redeem it.
    so as it stands now, a couple of UITFs are outperforming MF.

    navpu is use in UITF as participation of the fund (in UITF, you participate in the pool of funds)
    navps is use in MF to represent your ownership of the company in the form of shares (you are part owner of the MF)
