here is the reason why i want to shoot the moon on the 2nd or 3rd quarter and not the full moon ...


you can see the details of the moon while you will loose a lot of details with a full moon shot ...


these were taken about two weeks ago on board sulpcio lines on my way to butuan... one week apart

f5.6 minimum (pinakadako nga opening) for me, f6.3 will also give good results and in fact f8 will do just lower your shutter speed if you do use f8.

@ian - also, don't forget to bracket; in my case, i shoot at the widest opening and bracket up the shutter speed up to about 1/600 or so....
