(Updated 8:45 a.m., July 31) - A first-year San Beda Law student died Monday from purported injuries supposedly from a hazing incident, according to the San Beda College of Law Facebook page. The
news broke on Twitter Monday night.
Marc Andrei Marcos, 22, was reportedly brought to the DLSU Medical Center in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
“This is what we have confirmed so far: at about 3 p.m. this afternoon, we have received reports that a 1st year Bedan law student… from 1P, has been confined at the De La Salle University Medical Center in Dasmariñas, Cavite, but he did not make it. The LSG officers after receiving the report went to Dasmariñas, Cavite but the body was no longer there,” according to the
San Beda College of Law Facebook page.
It also said the body is in Quezon City, where it is
undergoing an autopsy.
The student's friends have been tweeting and posting about his death and some have changed their profile pictures calling for justice for the victim.
Emergency room staff at DLSU Medical Center told GMA News that there was a patient who came in Sunday, but they refused to give further details, saying that the doctors who treated the patient were currently off-duty. —
