The letters, which were signed by the Mayor Teddy Ouano, were sent to those who got free funeral services, discounts at the Mandaue City Hospital, scholarship programs and to the parents of the students of the Mandaue City College (MCC)....
The letter, he asked of the families who got coffins and were able to use a hearse for free under the City’s free funeral services program.
“Ang imong pamilya usa sa mga daghan na nga nakapahimolos niining proyektoha. Tungod kay epektibo man kaayo ning proyektoha, gusto nako nga mapadayon kini. Apan, para magpadayon kining maong proyekto, gihangyo ko ikaw og ug ang kinatibuk-an nimong pamilya nga tabangan ninyo og paloyohan ang akong pamunu-an og si Jonkie nga mao ang akong ituboy nga maoy mosunod sa pagdumala sa atong dakbayan,” the letter read.
The mayor pointed out that if somebody else takes his place, the project will no longer be implemented and other families might not be able to benefit from the same programs.
Teddy also wrote those who were allowed to pay their bills at the Mandaue City Hospital on installment basis and those who were given discounts on their hospital bills....
