thats after the korean war when few filipino troops (including cook) that is already surrounded were able to repel chinese human wave attack on their position even without support from the main US line... they are the members of 12 BCT, Fidel Ramos was a young Lt on this battalion...

however things have change... McArthur is dead, the country is in disarray, and we are flooded with stupid and mor0n brown monkeys, who watch telenovelas and reality shows thingking thats it story of their life.... what remains is just history, a proud history of gallantry... which is very rare nowadays....

i love this country, but i wish all the stupid/melodramatic/m0ron brown monkeys (including some istoryans) will die... they are the reason we are soo fcked-upped

I have to disagree. "You don't have to believe in your government to be a good citizen. You just have to believe in your country." Gallantry is still present even until this very moment. Although we have corrupt politicians leading us, however, we still have brave men and women who are serving in the Armed Forces who are risking their lives so that all of us can still have our freedom.

On a personal note, I don't vote because for me it just doesn't make any sense, but that's me. Aside from that, I know a handful of people who are always willing to die for our country. People that I personally know. You see, gallantry is not only shown by wielding of sword or guns, but I see it on a daily basis. Our fellow Filipino who struggle to put food on their table, defying the odds of poverty, etc. The fire is always burning within their hearts. Now, in the event that someone invades our country, I am confident that those people who wants to protect their right, freedom and their way of life will surely stand to defend it. It has happened before and I'm pretty sure that it can happen again.

gallantry in defending the country against foreign aggression only shows when the situation calls for it.
i hope that there wouldn't be a need for us to show it.
but if there is, i hope everyone of us will.
    damn all the cowards!

If you would like to meet the people that I am referring to sir, feel free to join us one of these days for our military simulated airsoft games. we play sa Cebu zoo every Saturday. It's a small group of people, but you will be surprised with what we were trained to do. It's something that not a lot of people are privy to do and we don't brag about it. We also hope that we won't be able to use but once we do, we are prepared.

China will just bully small countries and that includes the Philippines but China doesn't have the guts to make any attack against us. For starters, during the Korean war, it was the Filipino troops who held the line while the allied forces withdrew. Also, China hasn't been at war for the longest time while on the other hand, our soldiers are always at war whether domestic or abroad.

China has also made a very risky move by creating an island in the South China Sea. The island, though guarded by their coast guard is still prune to attacks both air and land. We can surely take over the island if we really have to, unfortunately, our government leaders doesn't have the guts to do such. Our soldiers are the most feared warriors in the battle field. They may lack the latest equipment but they definitely have the heart of a Filipino who's always willing to die for our country.

China knows these things that's why their move is to divide and conquer. Make an island in the Philippine economic zone and let the Filipino people and the government leaders to fight with each other.
ten thousand Filipino soldiers to conquer the world?

    whoa...

    wake up!

ilad ra to ni macarthur kay naka uyab man ug pinay ato nga time.

as far as war is concerned... kutob ra nis looming. nothing will happen, no war will happen, except of course in airsoft games... where boys play with little 6grain plastic balls.

    I disagree.
The Battle of Yultong, 900 Filipinos were severely outgunned, outnumbered, exhausted and encircled with no winter gears. Yet our men were able to hold ground and inflict damage to 40,000 Chinese.

    I agree.
Wearing camouflages, battlegears and firing guns loaded with plastic pellets doesn't make you a soldier.

you can never find the quality of those 900 Filipino soldiers at Yultong among the modern Filipinos in this day and age... maski 90 lang maglisod ka ug pangita ug sama nila nga klase sa Filipino... igo na lang nis laglag barya ang naa karon diri.
