to those that think the US will help us in an event of war, i dont think so unless its a deal that the US gets to own the PH if they win the war. besides, China is the US biggest trading partner right now, if they were to choose between the PH and China the answer would be obvious. when it comes down to economy and thier nations welfare the US wont care about our so called democracy and thats a fact.

and the reason for spratly probably isnt for resources, its more of strategic placements of radars, anti ship missile defence and naval/air ports to extend thier naval/air operations safe zone. like what the US is doing to the PH, Japan and SKor, the "bases" they just bribe governments for it.

Why would the U.S. help us when we kicked their bases out? China started building structures on these islands shortly after the retarded Erap kicked the American bases out. Of course if you leave a power vacuum in an area, you're inviting another power in. thats correct... its more on military positions.. they want to control South China Sea as they could.

China is already surrounded(Taiwan, Japan, South Korea) by US puppets, so cant blame if they flex their muscle on their sphere of influence.

By controlling South China sea they could have a significant advantage if there is a conflict.
