I never used flash during the sinulog shoot. Even at the grand stand at night. I like it natural. heheh

Weddings, i use 580ex, best for canon users. Using GP 2500 rechargeable batteries, haven't used external power yet.

superspeed: mga gwapo mana ang mga photographers sa imo link sir (fireworks), labi na kana'ng naa sa center... hehehe...

@gilbz: I don't think compatible ang fuji flash unit sa nikon or canon na DSLRs. But I might be wrong though...

Daghan man 3rd party manufacturer ug flash nga compatible para sa shoe mount flash like canon ug nikon. but u sacrifice some OEM features like d TTL features.
Nalimot lang sa brand ako gamit nga flash, i use it in Nikon F3, Minolta, and Canon G3.

ot lang gamay. happy to know ur enjoying ur new baby.

if u want to have a flash that would work sa dslr u should decide or maybe know what brand dslr u'll be getting. if u'll buy a canon, get the 580ex it is compatible sa fuji s9500 coz i've tested it. if u'll settle for a nikon u get the sb800 but dunno if it would work sa fuji pro duda ko mowork ra kay knowing fuji dslr uses nikon lens mount.

akong nabasahan somewhere, nikon sb800 will work as manual flash even on canon camera, or any camera that has cold shoe ba pangalan ana?

you can try vivitar 285HV (6,900 sa colours) .. dugay mo recycle pero perting kusoga.

i haven't tried sunpak 383 w/c is non-dedicated, but i read somewhere that they work the same as 285HV

this my finding with vivitar 285HV

it can fire consistently in less than 2 seconds with 6V 1.2Ah sealed lead acid batt at 1/4 power
it can fire consistently in a second with 12V 4Ah sealed lead acid batt at 1/4 power
tried to set it a full power with 6V lead acid and fired it as much as i can .... i burned the fake batt that i put inside perting inita

then i tried to use it after a week .. work raman gihapon .. ako na lang gitangtang tung mga plastic na na meltdown sa sulod.

i'm not sure if canon 580EX will work as manual flash on any cam, but then, it's still very expensive if you wan't to use it as manual flash on your fujifilm cam.

get nikon sb800 .. anyway you can still sell it not that much of a loss if you'll shift to canon.
