There's no support group for the clinically depressed unfortunately here in Cebu. Sad to say dili pa kaayo aware ang mga tao about this. It's reality that there are a number of depressed people and the family does not even know how to handle a patient who has depression. I hope somebody has to start somewhere.

If you're clinically depressed i guess it's better if you consult a doctor preferably a psychiatrist if you feel it's severe depression. Symptoms are lack in interest in what you usually do, lack of appetite, cannot sleep or sometimes oversleeping, feelings of hopelessness. The doctor will prescribe anti depressant drugs. Depression has medical basis, its caused by chemical imbalance in the brain and should be treated. It's something we cannot control despite how strong we are but sometimes it's triggered by a traumatic event like a crisis in the family. It's something we should not ignore, if somebody is depressed get help as soon as possible. Those people who are attempting suicide are very disturbed. If someone makes a threat, don't ignore. It is something beyond his control.

St. John's Wort. Research about it. You can find it in GNC.

While you're searching for a local support group, try checking online support groups. Makatabang baya.
