I'm planning to start a sideline by buying and selling items (almost anything reasonable to ship). Items will be bought in the USA and shipped anywhere to the Philippines. My plan would be to just charge for actual shipping amount + a fixed % of the item value. I'm not familiar with customs. Do I pay for duties or the receiving end pays for the duties and by how much. Are there things to watch out for?
Payment would be using a verified paypal account as paypal now accepts Credit Cards from philippines only for SENDING funds. This would be a win-win situation for both the buyer and seller as paypal would be the mediator. There would be no fees to send money. And this would protect the buyer if item is not delivered. They can simply file a complaint from paypal and would be refunded.
Do you think this is feasible? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
