there are many definitions and aspects that we can look at pertaining to a country's freedom and sovereignty contrasting this to other foreign powers, or against each citizen's individual freedoms and rights.
- territorial sovereignty - the sovereignty of the state on the land.
- political freedoms and rights (state/individual ) - the ability of the state to exercise its mandate and the individual's ability to express and exercise their rights.
- economic freedoms - the ability of the state to chart its own economic destiny free of coercion from other powers.
which of these are you talking about. feel free to elaborate. we can be talking about the same "freedom" and have opposite views on things not realizing that we are talking about different aspects of it.
i want to clear the air.

>>these are the aspects of freedom we barely can feel. Or maybe it's not existing? >.<
only people restraint themselves from becoming free....
ang tao mao ray ga gapos sa ilang kaugalingon og mao kani di sila makalingawas sa kalisod.
the mere fact that we can talk right now about what the state is doing, and not fear that cops will be at our door in a few minutes, suggests that there is still some political freedoms left.
however the number of journalists being killed, and people in jail for their political beliefs suggests otherwise.
unfortunately, many of us are too engaged in trivial things to understand why our shoes are made in China instead of Carcar or Marikina. we can barely feel what we do not understand.

I remember some lines, "you can appreciate your freedom until you lose it".
We are still very free...
