Default Cebu Aquaponics Hobbyist-Share Your Ideas and Experiences Here.

Any Aquaponics enthusiasts here, please share you experiences, system setups and ideas. As much as possible, this thread is for Aquaponics discussion only. If you're looking for Hydroponics, this is the link: https://www.istorya.net/forums/hobbie...droponics.html

Here's my customized Aquaponics system using the 3 methods found in the internet:

The whole system uses the 3 types of Aquaponics: NFT, Media based, and Rafting.

To give you basic ideas of what these 3 types are:

    1. NFT-Nutrient Film Technique can be used for backyard or commercial but is the least commonly used. This is where the plants are in pots and a small amount of water is trickled through the base of the channel where the roots access the water.

    2. Media based which is the most common design used in backyard systems uses either gravel or clay pebbles. The plants are sown directly into the media. Gravel is used in the flood and drain system where the grow beds are flooded and drained periodically allowing water to circulate through the system on a regular basis.

    3. Deepflow/raft is mainly used for commercial systems. The media used is water and rafts made from styrofoam or a floating board with holes for pots to allow the plants to sit in where the roots are always immersed in the water.

Here's my customized setup. My first Aquaponics project. It could be working or not. This is just an experimental stage. Keep you updated of the development.

Pero under observation and expiremental stage pani xa...mao d pako makaingun kung asa effective ani 3..

It's all natural from the water. No chemicals added. Not the poh of the fish but the ammonia that is being produced naturally by the fish.
