I am going to order a couple of microcontrollers next month. To minimize my shipment fee, I am going to sell some of it.

1. PIC16F628A = Php 180
2. PIC16F887 = Php 250
3. PIC18F4550 = Php 320
4. PICKIT2 (w/out the dev board) = Php 1800

To those hobbyist who are looking for PIC16F84/PIC16F84A, I would suggest you consider using the PIC16F628A because they are almost the same ( pinout, port names,etc..). But the PIC628a has a lot of advantages compared to the obsolete PIC84A, it can operate w/out a crystal, it has a USART for PC interfacing, bigger memory, it is so cheap compared to the PIC84A, etc.. You could search GOOGLE for their similarities and difference.

Similarly to those who are looking for the old PIC16F877A, I would suggest the newer PIC16F16F887 with almost the same reasons I wrote above. Aside from that, the PIC16F887 is the device that is used as an example for the MikroC compiler which are the best compiler for complete beginners as well as for the pros..
