Use ICS bro buy lang osa ka NIC card and a UTP cross connect pwede na. F u have d budget go for 4 port switch/hub and 2 stright thru UTP cables. Forget the router gasto2x lang ka ana and dili applicable sa imo setup.![]()
but it would be more secure and less holes when filtered by latest models of router nowadays. a separate standalone router has better filtration on anonymous internet requests, multicast, and nat redirection. it can help lessen internet attacks and its easier to diagnose when connection problem occurs. its convenient too.
@ baju
better buy a separate router which has a built-in 4-port switch, there are many common brands to mention available locally out there, linksys, edimax, d-link,etc... you wouldnt realize how helpful and convenient it is unless tested. good luck.
buy a router sir..its better..naa naman gud firewall da ba..its more secured.![]()
thanks a tips bro. kung e peer to peer nako kailangan man gud nga nag ON gyud ang isa ka pc nga nag connect sa net coz that would act as the server dba.. kung switch lang diay mga bro? ok raman kaha gihapon ang connection speed ana... ? thanks in advance
mo difference man gud ang price sa router ug sa switch.. mas bara2 gamay ang switch..
pero mas secure ang router sir. =)
first of all. you need a router and you need a switch.
we cannot say mas secure ang router kay sa switch becauase a switch absolutely has no security at all... and if you are using only a switch. .you CANNOT route packets outside your network, meaning you CANNOT access the internet.
if you have the money, buy a ROUTER with built in ethernet ports (so it functions as a switch as well)
kung ROUTER with eithernet port na deretso na siya? like a plug n play na siya?? no need to set up network configurations? thanks sa tip bro..
Ok considering f u go for switch router try ang linksys bro those with 802.11x /wireless(aka hotspot ba) capable na para maximize nimo ang purpose those are 4 port non-configurable device more of plug n play kay naa ni sya built-in na DHCP where you can define IP scopes. It is a user friendly device and dali ra jud kaayo e setup.
