if you give the source code, dapat wala nay support... tagam nako ana sa mga chinese client nako sauna they have modified by other developer and when their developer made a shit... balik sila nako... well i charge them new na... kay void naman ang warranty when they modified it...
usually if walay contract pwede ka mo balibad but if naay contract better follow nalang....
what do u call that bro? Not giving the code is greediness. It's not useful to you why not make it useful to other person?
Nothing 'hago' with code. Coding is easy as breathing. The business process and the sytem much more difficult than coding.
And do you think the client are not contributing that? It's impossible to create that program without the client's direction, participation, and even they are involved with testing.
I-open source na lang na bro. I-hatag ang code pero apilan nimo ug GPL license.
sakto cla, just give the code, like what youve said naglearn pa ka, ayaw bulingi imo reputation while sayu pa, build good relationship to your client bhalag past client na nmo cya you dont know what will happen in the future, maybe naa na pd moy mga business deals software related or not, maybe naa cyay friend or contacts na magpahimu software then ikaw ang irecommend nila(because of your good relationships),
dont be greedy, its just a source code, unless na youve written a code that will changed the entire world then dont.
Kung gahi jd ka, they do have the right sa imo source code, since its their business in the first place, mapildi ka sa technicality ana; THEY PAID YOU to build the system, technically they OWN the system.
If they havent paid you, then you have not written the source code in the first place.
Consider the situation;
Example: naay mahitabo sa ila tindahan because of a system failure, because you have the source code(or a copy of the source code) you will be one of the suspect. One major example is inventory loss, or wrong computation.
Next time bahalag unsa kagamay basta business software, ALWAYS put it on papers.
PS. to other istoryans, if you read the thread carefully, the word GREEDY always exist in majority of the post, ITS BECAUSE of the original post that the OP is considering to SELL the source, as far as i know every one has the right to interpret dpending on the parameters given.

That situation is common. By default, you should give the code because you are paid for it. Even today lots of programs are run from uncompiled source codes (python, perl, perl, php, javascript). Java program is very easy to disassemble. There's nothing to hide there. So why worry about your useless code?
At first turnover they wont understand your code right away. So if you are asked to explain it, then that is your our opportunity to charge because they are asking for your valued time.
Be good to your customer and money will follow.
Nice, GOT IT!
Salamat kaayo mga bro sa inyo ideas.

it depends on the Memorandum of Agreement..
For me lang ha, dili man gud ko mohimo ug system kung walay MOA..
Ang naa sa MOA kay, ang mga conditions nga akong gi.trabaho apil na ang maintenance ug warranty good for x number of months ug ang ways sa pagbayad..
kung verbal lang gud, daghan madisgrasya ana... usa pa business is business... lisod baya pangita ug kwarta karong panahona... so, better not give the source code... pero depende rasad na nimo bro...
