Need help on this, cant access since this pops out of my screen before the windows xp splash screen appears

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file."

im surfing now at netopia ayala since i cant use the laptop at home. need an immediate help. i know OS needs to be reinstalled but im looking for other options

What I believe is your win32.dll is infected with a virus. Scan first and try to repair XP but if still cant you have to reinstall

just repair it using your installation cd

Run the OS Installer CD. If it won't help.. then reinstalling it will be the only solution.

your os is corrupted bro. if a repair will not help, try reinstalling the os. if all else fails, format c:

just repair the OS using the installation cd.. no need to reinstall..
you may use the commands, chkdsk & fixboot... for winXP os only
