Default A Guide On Registering At Comelec (Cebu Office) : Exercise Your Right To Vote!

The Presidential, Legislative and Local elections are scheduled to be held on May 10, 2010 (Monday)
The elected president will become the 15th President of the Philippines, succeeding President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who is barred from seeking re-election due to term restrictions. The Legislators elected in the 2010 elections will join the senators of the 2007 elections and will comprise the 15th Congress of the Philippines.

The 2010 elections will be administered by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in compliance with The Republic Act No. 9369, also known as Amended Computerization Act Of 2007. It will be the first national computerized election in the history of the Philippines.

We all have the right to vote, so even though you're not interested with politics and have no interest on who's running and all that then you should think twice.. Your future is at stake.. Don't waste your vote..

Here's a simple guide on how to register at COMELEC :

The Comelec Cebu office is located near Sto. Niņo Church, across Eagle's nest tourist inn and Michelin building.. (Opens on weekdays only at 8 am and closes at 5 pm)

Dress code: No wearing of T-shirts and sandals

These are the important things to bring when registering:

    1. Ballpen > lol...yes, really important
    2. Valid ID (showing your present address) > Driver's License, school ID, nbi clearance, passport, GSIS ID etc.
    * Just Bring a xerox copy of your ID too just in case
    3. A copy of your Birth Cerfiticate > for those below 18 years old but will be 18 by the 2010 elections

Before getting inside the office, there will be a guy outside the entrance holding some small forms wherein you need to fill up before you get in.. you'll be filling up important data like your name, present address etc.

Only people who will be registering can get in the office, so if your planning to ask someone who's already registered to accompany you, then he/she will just remain outside and wait till your finished registering

Upon entering, you will be guided on what to do, you'll be filling up forms and people will be typing your data on their computers, your photo will be taken etc.

    * No Fee - you don't have to pay for anything (If anyone asks you for any fee then that's illegal..Ipatrol mo lol)

after registering, the only thing you'll be bringing out from the COMELEC office is a stub which will be needed during the election day (so keep it, don't lose it!) you'll be presenting that stub when you are about to vote..

    * The worst day to register > The deadline / last day of registration lol

So go register, it onlt takes a few minutes.. If you are assertive enough lol .. DON'T WASTE YOUR VOTE!

The FF. Persons declared their intention to run for President:

    > Among Eddie Panlilio - Governor Of Pampanga

    > Jejomar Binay - Mayor Of Makati City

    > Francis Escudero - Senator

    > Bayani Fernando - MMDA Charmain

    > Panfilo Lacson - Senator (Updates: Ning backout si Lacson)

    > Mar Roxas - Senator

    > Gilberto Teodoro - Secretary Of National Defense

    > Manny Villar - Senator

Possible to run: > Joseph Estrada (he's still thinking about it lol)

Thank you for this info, it's very helpful but i have a question:

    3. A copy of your Birth Cerfiticate > for those below 18 years old but will be 18 by the 2010 elections
does this mean that I don't have to bring a Birth Certificate because i'm already 22?
