As I was walking in SM, a sales rep named aileen approached me if naa ba koy credit card, checking account, or ATM kay if naa qualified daW ko sa ilang FREE Raffle Promo once moattend ko sa ilang business presentation. To make it short, niattend jud ko sa ilang one on one presentation. The presentation was held in one room sa SM with several guests pud nakauban na ko sa room. The presentor, offered me 3 different savings plan/life insurance products. He also asked me to use my credit card to start with the savings program. Wala ko nisugot kay on my mind, wala pa koy sure if tinuod ilang company, although ingon to si aileen nga Danvil is a marketing plan sa prudential life. the presentor also talked very fast nga mura og dili na ko nya paistoryahon. Maayo nalang kay nakagawas ra ko on that room nga wala sila kapugos nako.

Pag-abot sa balay, research dayon ko about sa ilang company and to the raffle promo nga ilang giingon. Sus, pagkadaghan diay og complaints regarding aning ilang company and to their marketing approach. Below are some of the links i found out about Danvil SCAM Stories:

from the blogs, it definitely looks like a scam. plus they hold people against their will which is definitely against the law.

We were also approached in the same manner. Mangayo daw sya "for identification purposes" sa among account number. After we told the lady that we do not have any credit cards or checking accounts at all, she backed off. She then said that "qualifying" for the raffle draw is difficult for non-credit card holders.

just wanna share what me and me wife experienced sa mga scammer nga naa sa usa ka mall dri sa CEBU.

ang scam involves luxury appliances such as a MASSAGE CHAIR, INDUCTION COOKER, AIR PURIFIER, etc.

here's how the scam goes:

I. first part
at first maka dawat mo tawag. the caller will state that they are from PGU. a comany that holds warranty/guarantee coverages from major appliances. then they will tell you nga naka daog kuno mo pina-agi sa usa ka electronic raffle sa usa ka appliance nga inyo na purchase previously. the prizes are: AIR PURIFIER, BLENDER, RICE COOKER and SECURITY ALARM. and we need to draw one of these prizes. then the caller will give you a validation code which you will present kung mu-adto namo sa ila office. in our case it was '20110 LD'. the caller told us to go to their showroom ARYSTA at the PARKMALL. to the excitement me and me wife readily went to the mall after the call.

other thought: at first, naka suspetsa nako nga scam/ilad jud ni. ingon sila nga ni daog mi kai tungod sa warranty card namo nga na purchased. nya i can't remember buying any appliaces recently. and also na taud amo landline last oct.2008. ang ako lang na purchase nga gamit prior to that is my rig which was bought on fed2009.

II. at the mall
so ni-ad2 dayon mi. nya sayon raman ad2 sa parkmall kai isa raman ka sakai ug vhire from TAMIYA. pag-abot namo sa parkmall wala dayom mi mi-deritso sa ila showroom. ni agi rami dayon lahos. naa daghan tawo nga gi-demohan sa mga executive didto. sa lahos mi but the excitement to have the prize. so amo gi buhat agi mi balik sa ila showroom then someone from outside, a lady dressed in a business attire asked us what we're looking for. so my wife told her that we were looking for a person (naka limot nako sa name). then she told us to enter the store and so we did.

we were ushered to the comfortable chairs they have. then the lady that told us to come in, named SALOME, introduced us to one of their products and told us to wait for the confirmation of the said prize. the product she told us about is an INDUCTION COOKER made of ceramic that is made from JAPAN as she stated. the said cooker is a work of art. flawless and sleek design. masuya jud ka sa gamit sa kanindot.

then next item she told us about is the massage chair. she ushered me to have a sit on it and gave me the remote for the said chair. it was a bliss on my back and to my neck. the machine really works wonders. nindot kaau feeling, nya hilig pud ko pamasahe, ilabi na sa NUAT THAI kai mga chix ang masahista. hehehe...

next item, an AIR PURIFIER. nindot pud nga gamit. alternative sa aircon. bugnaw pud xa. nya naa compartment butangan ug essences oils. this is the item i like the most. liman ka purifier na pwedi pa jud i puli sa aircon tungod sa iya kabugnaw. nya movable pa jud ang gamit. nya thers a coming baby pa jud mi nya plano pud mi palit aircon os nindot kaau nga deal ni xa.

then came the confirmation kuno from a fax from PGU. they gave us the sheet and match our confirmation code to the the list. kung asa daw tungod ang list naa daw didto ang prize. and the result.... tada... a secutiry alarm. gamai sa nga gadget in whcih kung birahon nimo ang peg nga naka position sa taas mu tingog xa nya saba raba kaau.

nya natingala ang rep nga ngano naa da LD and amo code. nag-ask xa sa iya kauban nya iya kauban ni sulod sa ila office pag-gawas ingon sa nga SPECIAL PRIVILEGE daw meaning atong LD. so nabibo ila tanan rep kai swerte kuno kaau mi tungod sa privilege nga amo nadawat. dayon usa ka rep nag hay-ag ug mga sealed envelopes nya pili daw mi. pili ako asawa then pag-abri naka daog daw mi Php2000 worth of gift cert. na bibo napud sila. grabe daw amo swerte. then sa likod sa sa gift cert kai:

* This gift certificate is not convertible to cash
* After use, the purchaser is entitled to the following free samples
- InexHealth Kiyoshi Massage Chair

take note sa third option. enitiled daw sa free sample nga mga gamit. nya ang gamit pa jud katong mahal pa jud kaau. by the way katong gi na demo mi sa items the chair cost 81K, the air ourifier kai 48k, the induction cooker kai 60k.

pagka-basa sa comments sa likod naa dayon ni gawas nga box for the chair and the facial massager. ingon sila na amo na daw tong daog. so lipay pud kaau mi. pero on the back of my mind scam na jud to. honest, kabalo lagi ko nga scam to. hehehe... then heres comes the catch. take note of the first line on the comments '* This gift certificate may be used to purchase any of the participating products of Home Sonic'. so to mean, ma kuha ra namo ang entitled nga free items kung mu purchase mi ug gamit using the gift cert.

so nag-ask dayon ang rep kung asa sa mga gamit amo ganahan nga item. so sa wai duha-duha ingon ko nga katong air purifier. so ingon sila nga ang item costs Php47900. nya naa man mi gift cert nga worth 2k, i-minus daw didto. so amo bayronon na lang kai Php46900 nya makuha na daw namo kato tanan 3 item.

then naa pa gyud. nag-ask sila kung valid ba for one more gift item. ask sila kung unsa amo linya sa telepono ug linya sa cellular. tubga pud mi nga TM ug PLDT. tada.... daog na pud daw mi kai affliated daw sila sa company. naa na pud bunot2. this time ako ni bunot. pina-ana pa ang rep nga usually daw kai BOKYA daw. so ana xa nga grabeh na jud ka swerte kung daog pa jud. pag abri nako kai daog na pud mi all-purpose cooker. kanang rice cooker nga daghan gamit. bibo na pud sila! yehey! daog napud. so upat na kai item amo madala kung bayaran daw namo ang air purifier.

so at the back of my mind nga scam jud to kabalo nako nga kwarta jud ila tuyo. then sulti dayon sila sa modes of payment which is COD, CC, and installament nga mura lay-away. nya wala man mi kwarta nga ing-ana kadako whether sa amo haus or sa bank, nya wala pud mi CC kai gi pa-putol namo. so nahulog jud mi sa installament.

then the rep told us we could give a downpayment for Php5000. pero wala man mi ing-ana kadako nga gidala. so ask daw sila permission to lower it down to 3K. wala japun mi dala nga 3K. ang sulod sako pitaka kai 1K ra. nya ako unta to ipalit ug subwoofer sa octagon, katong edifier nga tag 1.3K. ang dala sako wife kai 500 rah. pang palit ug bathromm stuff like sabon, shampoo, conditioner for the week. so ask na pud sila permission sa ila manager daw. pwedi daw 1K. ask sila pila amo dala. ingon ko 500 ra naa sako wallet. ingon pa ang rep nga kuyog daw xa sa amo-a. pagka jud! then ask sila pila jud daw amo total money. so ako ingon 500 nya ingon ako misis nga 500 pud iya, so pwedi na daw. nya hulog2 ra daw namo ang kulang. namugos jud sila nga 1K daw. ingon mi unsa-on namo pag uli. so finally sugot na lang sila 500. so pirma dayon ako misis ila voucher which has the items and the amout we payed.

ang naka pait pa jud kai di jud mi pagaw-son kung di jud mi maka hatag man lang. nag sour-grape pa ang rep nga sayang kuno iya laway. nya na pagaw na da xa istorya. mamugos pa jud kuyog daw xa amo balai.

lastly, nakuha jud nila amo 500. nya naa pami kulang nga more or less 50K. nya makuha daw namo isa sa item kung maka complete nami 60%.

so sa tanan dri sa ISTORYA, bantay-bantay jud mo. kung naa gani tawag sa inyo gikan from PGU ilad na xa.

pero ilad aside, kinsa ganahan ug MASSAGE CHAIR diha... 46000 nalang makuha na ang gamit tanan. nya as i have looked around the chair ranges from 50-60K. ing-na lang ko kai ad2 ta did2 para kuha-on nato. PM lang ko kung kinsa ganahan mu kuha ato. naa pud kato facial massager. good for scalp, back and anywhere on the body.
