how about excruciating torture for holding such beliefs...internally and/or externally inflicted, what difference does it make?hehe

All of us will die eventually (i mean our physical being), even with religion or the lack of it.
But our faith is supposed to make us live (not physically but eternally).
Those who kill others and kill themselves are just religious fanatics, blind followers of man-made principles or teachings.

To die for beliefs is not a true gauge of one's value.
Ego sometimes influences one's decision-making.
