Murag gi big deal naman ni... I don't see whats so bad about calling Boracay as Bora... as long as masabtan imong gi sturya.

To someone nga dili familiar sa place.. you would say Boracay.. pero to friends or people nga suwito na sa lugar.. Bora will do.. I don't think making shortcuts of a name in any way disrespects the place as long as the person you're talking to understands what island you're referring to.

some like to call Pilipinas.. as Pinas... will that cause the ire of Filipinos? I think over reaction ra ni and being too sensitive about little things like what to call something. What's in a name anyway?
