Sa locals ang somewhat related are: sa Manila - SUGAR HICCUP and sa Cebu - d Rockers. D Rockers ra jud ang nitukar ug RIDE sa cebu ! Wa ko kaila ani nila personally , pero idol ko ning mga lokala !

hmmm... talking about Sonic Youth.. i just had this very vivid dream about 2 afternoons ago (i sleep at 3pm)... i dreamt that i talked to Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon.. They were supposed to play a gig in cebu, and i happened to chance upon them having a radio interview (what was weird about it was that Thurston was carrying an accoustic guitar, i never could have imagined sonic youth accoustic), and they were pretty nice to me and i became their roadie for the day.. i actually forced them to walk to their hotel in Midtown...

Damn, that was a really vivid dream.. and to think that i am not that big a fan of sonic youth, although i like them a lot.... feels really weird.. is that an omen or something i lost my "100%" almost 10 yrs ago and i'm having a Sonic Youth flashback... that's really weird...

Di man gyud nimo ma sulti nga Shoegaze was influenced by Cocteau Twins, Sonic Youth, ug The Jesus and Mary Chain... also consider that Shoegaze was already around when Sonic Youth came out... wala pa lang na coin ang term nga shoegaze pero the sound was already there.
Mao ni'y naka nindot sa mga musicians nga lain lain ug background nya mag-abot.. kay they usually spawn something new.. usually weird and interesting. Pero sakto sab ka bai in a way... if imong sagulon ang gitara sa Jesus and Mary Chain, and feedback sa Sonic Youth... ug vocal style sa Cocteay Twins... SHOEGAZE ang labas.

to sumpay to yours, ang d Rockers ra jud akong nakit-an nako nga niplay ug "100%" sa cebu concerts. nako schoolmates niplay ani pero wala chance sa public.

sayang tua na diay sa Chicago ang vocals sa 'D Rockers? mga arki mani sila sa TC bay no? ang bassist mura napa man japun dri.

nindut unta tong NEW WAVE SESSIONS series concerts sa una dah, diri to sa Cebu. wana ba kaha lain ato?

sonic youth is art noise - porus saba saba (feedbacks/effects/looping sequence & wathave yous) pero dili sakit sa dunggan . dili lang pulos rockstar-style gitik2 sa gitara ug roll roll sa drums. kung naay abstract painting naa puy abstract music. ang music sa sonic youth. dili cla shoegazer. influence lang. pero pyter kaayo ! deep ang ila tirada for what they do. sukad 1980 pa silang aning ila banda but if you listen murag mas future pa ila music sa unsay accepted karon. Hail the Sonic Youth - the GodFathers of Noise !!!

i think all of you are forgetting one very important band to shoegaze: MY BLOODY VALENTINE!!!!
because of them, shoegaze bands multiplied and created a scene, if only for just a while...

when i listen to shoegaze, i dont want the song to end. its in continuous loop, and you're sent in this semi-hypnotic state, and it goes on for several minutes like you're in another place... and then it ends. its magical. especially in headphones/earphones.
