Share lang ko sa experience nako regarding re-selling of items.

Items such as appliances starts to de-appreciate the moment you leave the store. Same thing with cars, furnitures and similar items UNLESS it has a historical value attached to it - like for example the previous owner is a celebrity or the item has historical significance.

Bisan "never-been used" ang item - the next buyer will always be "the second-owner". This is not a house and lot or a real-estate that will raise it's value over time. This is a consumable item. So bisan 1 year pa nga "never been used", the appropriate "deappreciation of value" will still apply.

Generally speaking, these items lose 5% of their value once it is brought out of the store. Then up to 20% on the third month. Shave off 30%-40% if the new models come in. As a general rule, these items lose 40% of their store-bought value after a year from it's purchase.

For example, if you bought your unit for 30thousand, selling it within 3 months would mean selling it for 25thou. Selling it after one year would mean a fair market value of 18thousand. Beyond one year, any buyer usually has numerous options and medyo limited na ang selling-attraction sa unit. One also has to consider that a top-of-the-line model now will be outdated a few months after. Such is the electronics industry nowadays.

But that shouldn't stop you from asking for more. Specially if you put in after-market improvements. But this is best applicable to cars and refurbished home furnitures but seldom for electronic equipment.

If you want, you can seek advice from appraisers. That's how I got to understand basic re-selling practices and standards.
