Of Cinderella Stories and Broadening Horizons
Apart from being named champions of the PFF Smart National Club Championships, several Ceres players were given individual awards, with Kyeon Hyeong Park named Best Defender, Joshua Beloya named Best Midfielder, Jae Hun Hyeon named Best Goalkeeper, and Byeong Jun Yoon himself named as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
The beauty of the PFF Smart National Club Championships is that it broadened our horizons beyond the confines of football played in Metro Manila and exposed audiences to the quality present in the regions—at least, the quality coming from Negros, given that only the matches beginning from the semifinals were aired.
