Working at Singapore - Experiences and Tips

Hi guys,

knsa na nka work sa Singapore? g.unsa ninyo pag apply? nag agi mo ug agency or niadto jud mo sa Singapore mismo?

Please advise.

My friend who is now working in Singapore first had to acquire a visa that allowed her to stay for 1 year in Singapore to look for work there. It took her roughly 6 months before siya nakakita ug work, but it depends siguro on what work you are applying and looking for over there. I heard that some people find work within the 1 month no-visa stay for Philippine passport holders and then again, naa others like my friend who really had to stay for more than 1 month to find work.

Again, this is just feedback I heard from various people. Maybe not entirely accurate but depende sad na sa imong suwerte over there. But please take into consideration the global economic crisis, daghan kaayo na-taktak sa Singapore, mao feedback sa akong friend. Nahadlok gani siya matang2x siya since she's new to the job. So ako advise is just feel first the economic situation and if you feel na murag okay na sa Singapore, try your luck there. Mas maayo if you have a place to stay so that dili dako ang gasto. Singapore is expensive.

^^ yep, mo agree jud ko nimo bai.. I had also a friend working in SG.. Lisod jud daw karon ang SG oist... Naa sad ko kaila nga wala jud cya kakita work ngadto. Ni uli nalang tawn.. ^_^

meh, direct hired last year, 1st quarter. pero swerte rajud to.. kay mostly sa direct hired kana ra mga dagko au na position like project manager, senior engineers and etc.. nya ako yamokmok ra bya ko.

if naa raka sa pinas nya mag apply ka dri, ambot lng. maayo nana kng tagdon imo application.
if naa pud ka dri kay lisod pud kaayo karon, mostly sa i.hire nila kay local or PR.. mao ako na imbes ngita lain na trabaho, pa bilin lng sa ko sa amo company. haha..

lisod pangita work dri karon kay daghan au foreign talent, nya sa kasagaran na i.hire lage kay local or PR.

daghan lagi mag-post ug mga SG jobs noh? dagku pa jud ug mga sweldo.. pero dapat mga 3-5 yrs experienced na..

dako daw sweldo call center agent didto..

a friend of mine nga nana didto... daghan job opps sa SG. Bsag sa bank or engineer... Call center at least 1 year daw.. Salary? 80-100k a month...lami kaau pero ang swine flu kalat pa.. tsk tsk tsk

grabeh bitaw effect sa crisis ai. ang DBS gali last year kai nag "retrenchment excercise" sila hehehe
900 employee ang na tang2x.

ako kai nag tourist ko diri last june... wee hapit nako mag 1 year.
almost 3 weeks pud ko ngita trabaho oi hehe.
dili ko direct hire pero wala ko gasto sa agency
nka advantage lang pud sa agency kay kung manirado ang company kung asa ka gi butang ila ka pangita an lain company. nya uban agency kay naa daw sweldo samtang wala paka company ka butangan hehehe

for now. lisod jud ang situation diri singapore. pasalamat ka kung naa paka trabaho.
