service error 6A00 for pixma ip4200..please help

6A00 error is a generic fault for printhead movement problem.try this: unplug usb lead from printer, disconnect mains, and leave printer for 5 mins switched off. This should clear the memory/logic error. Kung dili gyud then bring out the warranty card....its time...

yup i always do that unplugging it,but still after i print a couple of papers,it go back with the error...

i also remove the cover, and try to on the printer,watching the movement of the printer head..but its ok...

i don't know whats the prob with it...

Thats an ink purge unit error. Open the printer to allow head/ink to slide to middle. Then unplug. once no power you can manually slide the ink carriage full to the left - this will allow you to see the purge foam or cleaner at the far right of the printer behind the switches.

Check if there is paper, or the ink foam is loose or the purge unit is stuck in up position. Remove paper, return the foam to the right position or clean the purge unit. The purge unit is where the head "spits" out the ink when cleaning. sometimes when this is very full of ink it will get stuck.

To clean, wear gloves if do not want ink on your hands. Get paper towel, spray some glass cleaner and then dab the purge unit over and over until little ink/gunk is left. Make sure you do not leave any paper inside the printer.

Once done, plug power back on, this should return the head back to position and the printer should work already. If this solution does not work - bring to canon, be prepared to pay and wait over a month to get your printer back. Canon service is in mandawe, next to fly-over near Jo's Inato.
