Labrador Retriever / Dalmatian Hybrid Dogs

The Dalmador is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Labrador Retreiver and the Dalmatian. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Dalmador pupps are generally more like Lab. with a few spots from DALMATIAN gene pool.
i.e. black LAB + DAL = black dalmador pupps with white sopts at chest area or tail n paws.


golden LAB + DAL = cream dalmador pupp , may be or may not be with black spots.


Their ideal height is 52-56...& weight can be similar to DAL.
They ain't chubby or musculine dogs like LABs.
But they are more like DALs & hyperactive play dogs.
DALMADORS are known as DUCK HUNTERS.
& there are a few cases where owners leaves DALMADOR litters just becoz they are hyper active & tend to roll after every single human they see.


The breed is considered to be a designer breed registered with ACHC.


F1 = 1st generation puppy - 50% purebred-A and 50% purebred
F1b = backcross puppy - 25% purebred-A and 75% purebred-
F2 = second generation puppy - F1 hybrid crossed with an F1 hybrid
F2b = second generation backcross puppy
F3 = F2 hybrid to F2 hybrid
Multi-generation = F3 or higher generation hybrid crossed with F3 or higher generation hybrid

Living with a Dalmador
The Dalmador is very playful and protective.

Intelligent, friendly, loyal, energetic, lazy.

The Dalmador is a great family dog. They are typically great with children.

Could be a silly dog if not trained well.

Very active and very sleepy. Needs exercise twice a day but then sleeps and lazes around the rest of the time. Is happy to spend a few hours gnawing on a raw bone.

Very happy to laze about in the sun.

Dalmador Appearance
black with chest of spots and four spotted paws.

The Dalmador can be around 50 pounds when fully grown.

Very friendly, loyal, loves kids, loves to be near us.

The coat of the Dalmador is mostly white but may have some black markings.

Dalmador Facts
The Dalmador makes a great watch dog, very trainable, likes to be around us when we are home but then is happy to be on his own and sleep when we are out. Loves his food.
