Very promising. A MID gives you full internet capability and meda functionality in a device just slightly bigger than the average Pocket PC. the lack of a phone radio is the only missing ingredient from making this a full blown smart phone but other than that it has complete connectivity in blue tooth and wifi. MIDs usually have a very high resolution screen for optimal internet browsing and media playback.

Seems like this will be the new trend on the rise this year... BBC predicts UMPCs as one of the top 5 technologies on the rise for 2008

the Eee PC is a cheap sub notebook...runs on a "strip-down" version of linux...its the counterpart of XO Pc...
