Dual Channel with 3 sticks of RAM?

I know this has been a hotly debated topic here at the forums, i even suspect that some of the modz will advise me to close this topic right away.

But i was just wondering:

I bought a new computer this christmas with an nforce2 chipset-based ECS N2U400a mobo with 2 sticks of ddr400 running in dual channel mode, (i think).

1.) I wanted to know who among guys here in the forums are running their nforce2 mobos with 3 sticks of RAM operating and still operating in dual channel mode?

2.) My second question would be, is it possible to run dual channel with 2x256mb ddr400 sticks and 1x512mb ddr400 stick for a total of 1gb? Anyone of you guys tried this?

Your opinions are greatly appreciated, thanks!!!!

BTW my processor is a sempron 2500+@1.75ghz with stock HSF.

Dual Channel Mode 1GB(2x256MB+1X512MB), depending in your mobo's config.

Channel 0
-512MB DDR400

Channel 1
-256MB DDR400
-256MB DDR400

Channel 0
-256MB DDR400

-512MB DDR400

1... We had an Epox mobo (nforce 2) with 2 * 512MB DDR333 (dual channel)

2.... We put another RAM in the middle slot (DIMM2) 256MB DDR333... during POST it still says that Dual channel mode is enabled...

memory on DIMM0 (channel0) and DIMM1(channel1) enables dual channel mode...

usually if you have 3 slots... rightmost and leftmost banks enables dual channel.... this is my experience with a nForce2... dunno with the other boards..

I would like to ask AMD_infinium05æ after you install the third mem stick, did it still ran in DDR333 mode or DDR266?

DDR 333 ra ghpon... the third mem is DDR333... maybe if i put DDR266 rather than 333, memories would clock down..

@grss1982 --> nope.. it wont run on dual..

mine: 2x256mb and 1x512mb.. even i turn on the dual channel in bios the cpuz cant read dual channel.
