This league was once organized by CIFYA (Cebu Inter-Family Youth Association) and a group of James' friends during the 1990s in honor of the late James Ong Go who himself was a basketball enthusiast. Before, it was primarily played and held at the Cebu Eastern College Gym. It momentarily stopped during the years 2000s; and now, as James relatives' became more involved and active in the sport of basketball, this league was born as a revival from its original organizers.
