that's no skull! the shape and depression on that piece of rock just happens to make it look like a humanoid skull. but on closer examination, if you zoom-in on the alleged skull, it's really nothing but a piece of rock. i bet if the sun will be behind the present position of the rover, the image impression of that rock from the same viewpoint will be entirely different.

as far as mars is concerned, i'd be more interested about the artificiality of some alleged rock formations at the cydonia region (huge rocks that look like eroded pyramids and the huge rock where a humanoid face seems to have been carved out).


the satellite photo below also suggests the presence of a big body of water on mars as can be gleaned from what looked like water waves and an island rock sticking out of the water in the middle.

nope...it's not related.

the image where the alleged skull is seen, is taken by the mars rover recently. it's a piece of rock that is approximately as big as a human skull. The image is taken at ground level as the mars rover moves around the surface of the red planet taking pictures.

the face of cydonia on the other hand is a huge rock that looked like a carved humanoid face. it is huge considering you can still clearly see the "face" from images taken from orbit (like the one taken by the viking orbiter in 1976) as shown in the above post where you can see the "face of cydonia" on the upper right corner of the picture which also contain the suspected ancient pyramids on mars.

a possibility of image manipulation..until then that NASA could retrieve those skulls and conduct necessary studies to confirm its origin and composition, i won't believe such crap.

There are lots of mysterious things about Mars, and possibility of cover-up from NASA. A manned flight will gives more answer, and additional questions.
