bangis, didto na pud ko ga stambay sa writers and bloggers thread.

After a month of absence in the badminton court, I forced myself to play again. I had my RSL 4300 restrung but still at 24lbs. Medyo rusty ako play but I still came up with some fancy shots with my ever reliable racket.

Oh by the way, the type of string you use matters too. I'm comfortable with the yonex ti65.

in support to the last post - i found this from an old article (most of the strings are synthetic nowadays):

Choosing the right Badminton String to go with your racket is important. It may win you games when playing against opponent of similar standard. But how you know which string is the right one?
First, you have to know that there are two types of Badminton Strings, strings made of natural guts material or synthetic material.
Natural guts strings provide more feel, control and power. It gives out less vibration and is nice to play with. However, they are less durable and more expensive.
Unless you have a higher budget, you may want to use the synthetic ones.
Badminton Strings have different gauge numbers to indicate the thickness or diameter of the strings. Thicker strings will have a lower gauge number. A 20 gauge string is thicker than a 22 gauge one.
Thicker strings are more durable and gives more control but not as powerful. Thinner strings will give you more zip and power but they don’t last long.
A lot of people think that a higher string tension means more power. In fact it’s the opposite that is correct. A higher string tension will give you more control while a lower string tension will give you more power. This is due to the trampoline effect of the strings.
You can go for string tension in between 16lb to 26lb, depending on the strings you use.
Let say you want extra power. What you can do is - Use thin strings at lower tension. Or you could use thin strings at higher tension for a more balance approach.
As you can see, stringing is more like doing arts than math. There is no one common answer for all players. Understand your own style of play, strengths and weaknesses. Then string it accordingly.
Feel it... Test it... This is the best advice that I can give...

Yonex titanium (Ti) 65 is a common choice of good players but I also tried RSL which is good enuf 4 me.... but gut them with experienced handlers. recommended gutters - La fleche in UV Colon, Chris or Toby's.

Follow-up question - is it possible to gut at different tensions, eg. 25lbs in the major sweet spot area while lower like 20lbs on the sides so that one can get the benefit of both high and low tensions?

Im planning to re-gut and also luking for gud ideas......

been playing for more than 2 years na cguro - i research for tips and materials coz i was planning to be more of a referee than a player (my company was in need of sum1 during our sportsfest so i research a lot in the net, etc.). i recommend beginners to check out baddicts & badmintoncentral forums for nice tips. Other websites medyo tihik mohatag.

i play with cdburgh at hoilday every sunday 5-7pm. we used to have games at southpoint every T-Th 6-9pm but minos man magdula.

    BaNGis

few tips to help u bro...for me thru experience i learned alot from badminton...for me bro i dont recomend you the best raquet coz it rilly depends on u bro if unsa ka comfortable sa weight gaan ba or bug-at ako since i started playing badminton last 4years ago i started mp99 which is very light rocket and a good defensive rocket coz its lyt but no matter how heavy ur raquet is if ur a good player u can almost counter the attack of ur opponent. it all matter on the wrist u have how fast u can catch the shuttle...if ur a smasher type of person u nid a heavy raquet and if ur a defensive player u nid a lyter raquet..cross courting and exhibitions are all from ur wrist how fllexible can it go... bout the string i use bg 65 coz im a smasher and my tension 28.. and by the way im using la flech raquet coz its not expensive but very strong racquet and kaya niya 30 tension....
