I think we need to clarify these statements.

1. What happens in this situation is that there isn't much English conversations for the person to listen and learn from basically because the conversations are in Tagalog. If one wants to learn English (formal and conversational), one must use the right tools. For formal English, one must learn the Basic. For conversational, one can watch sitcoms in English. I would have to say sitcoms because these are replete with every, common, normal conversations.

2. Is there such a great difference between the vocabulary in British English and one in American?

well, you can tell by watching the english movies..

they're totally different as opposed to the american films.. like the harry potter series..

one thing i observe... dili tapulan mobuka sa ilang baba ang mga brits kaysa sa mga americans... ahmmm mas conscious ang mga britz sa vowels and intonations/stresses...

I love talking and listening to britz than americans...
