Yes we still practice, but most of the people that practice here also belong to other martial arts schools, and I guess that has sort of become our requirement, you gotta be training in BJJ/Grappling/Judo first, because most of what we do is just Sparring. We were in the 'helping','teaching' years back in 2006-2008(back when there were no schools), but now we just do sparring sessions...
For tried and tested brazilian jiujitsu please check out Deftac Cebu, at Deftac Cebu, they've been around for about 3 years and with very good track records in multiple tournaments and even MMA events Nationally and even outside the Philippines. they have two locations (Loft@IT park, and Baseline). Don't be turned off by the 'intensity' of their warm ups because if you wanna be good at BJJ you gotta put some effort into it. Many are beginners but many of them are also experienced tournament champions (mixed group).
Another BJJ group is also in existence, Fabio Santos Philippines (Fabio Santos Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), barely a year old, also has two locations, hot rocks talisay and holiday spa. Don't be turned off by the 'relaxed' atmosphere because like i said, the school is barely a year old, most are beginners so its easier to start from scratch. The instructor is a black belt under Fabio Santos (obviously).
I would recommend that you guys try out both gyms and decide for yourself.
