.. you can answer WindShear but you can't answer my request here CLICK THIS . You keep on saying stuff like The thread starter based his post on GMA's doctored figures & misleading PR's. Kadugayan mahimo na ug Fourth World country! Ehehehehe

Bitaw, honestly to say, sometimes our leaders, especially our President, "sugar coat" news, turning bad news into good news. I call it propaganda tactics.

But I see it as looking a half empty glass of water into half full. Sometimes, giving the good news gives encouragement to the countrymen to work better, and the good news gives correction and informs us of our weak spots to further improve our standing.

.. the rich is getting richer because they are striving and working for it. The poor is getting poorer cause all they do is complain. On a positive note, I've seen a lot of "poor" people getting rich coz they worked their hearts out to get out of the slump. Bottom line, if people could just shut their mouths in the complaint area and think and act on solutions to solving their own problems then everything will slowly evolve.

Yeah good news ni. Pero dili pa gyud ko malipay kaayo and dili pa pud ta angay ma proud. As long as we are still in league with basically unknown, "alien sounding" countries like SWAZILAND and Nauru. As long as countries like Sri Lanka has better standing in their economy than ours. Even Vietnam is beating us in terms of progress and that is nothing to be proud of.

Pero anyway... Baby steps lang. Hinay hinay.

Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!

We're starting to move towards progress. Whether we want it or not, we have been a member of the third world countries ever since. It is only now that we can claim that we are no longer a third world country because of the economic gains we have as of the moment. If we can sustain this, we might be able to attain more.

By the way, US based investment Merril Lynch recently recognized the country's fiscal and economic progress as a "success story" for this year, showing our efforts with regard to economic reforms.

I think you've read the charts wrong ... the more you go further in the bigger the PPP (Purchasing Power Parity), so the more you are at the bottom, the richer the country gets... Sri Lanka are further on top of the list having a PPP rating of 4100 .. than the 4770 for us. The goal for us now is to get to the green section > 6,000 PPP.
