wow for me its disturbing..i know it depends kung kinsa ang mag play but making a game out of something as serious as rape is sick....i mean i hear you rodsky...there is probably 1 in a million chance you would rape someone but not everyone is that responsible...it can act as a fuel to a spark on someones sick mind..i dont know..just my own opinion
You forget the fact that this issue, as begun in this thread, is primarily a legal (not moral) one. We are trying to ascertain why Japanese law dismissed the case, because this is in fact what is bothering most people who have begun to complain about the existence of these games. Which is why the knife analogy is very handy in this situation.
The two situations, from a legal standpoint, pose a threat--the knife is potentially dangerous, and thus, in the eyes of some people (esp. moralists), that video game is also potentially dangerous. From a legal standpoint, in Japan, discussions, debates and arguments pertaining to its being banned from store shelves will only revolve on that issue of "potential threat to society and children". Thus I personally believe, Japanese law don't see it as a threat, in the same manner as they also don't see a kitchen knife as a threat (if you may recall, there in fact, have been motions to examine the security of knives in Japan, after several cases of stabbing sprees in Akihabara ( Stabbing rampage in Akihabara [Tokyo]: 7 people killed | Japan Probe ), and thus paving the way for the dismissal of the case.
