no offense but the PNA report is inaccurate.

it doesn't matter if we have nursing diploma mills, declining quality of nursing education, etc. that is the choice of the individual to take nursing in what or where ever he or she desires regardless of what. as long as they pass the local boards, CGFNS and/or NCLEX, then they are fit to be a nurse as far as testing and benchmarking is concerned.

as long as our nurses pass there required exams, then potential employers will hire them

daghan ra kaayo na ug drama ang PNA ug hilig sad kaayo mag apil-apil sa limelight because they already lost their credibility as an organization not too long ago.

though it is true that the hiring slowed down a little bit because of the recession, upcoming elections, etc. but the demand will always be there. Regardless of who the President will be, he will have a hard time fixing MediCare's deficit which is in the Trillions of Dollars.

as long as the salaries of our nurses here in the Philippines remains to be low, barely enough to feed their families, expect na lang that they will go abroad... or at least, aspire to...

ang ako-a pod, im not quite sure about PNA's statement regarding the shrinking of nursing demand abroad.. they may be right, they may be wrong... depende na lang jud cguro na sa Nurse kung naay ba syay kaila nga employer or naa bay relatives nga mo-tabang nila or whatsoever..

but with this report Most Pinoy Nurses jobless, underemployed - PNA ... this is soooo true.
