@jumps: Is it okay to use TOA plastic primer on WH40K kits? I'm not sure if I can check-in spray cans of Chaos Black and Skull White.

You can use the same primer you use for Gunpla on GW plastic kits.

Hi everyone. A year ago, my friends introduced me to 40k and I fell in love with the Grey Knights. Now that they have a new codex coming out, I feel like it was fate. heheh

Here are a few GKs [metal and converted] that I've been working on.

These guys are plastic with metal force weapons and scratch-built storm bolters:



We have a couple of GKs with psycannons converted from plasma cannons:

This guy is for my friend [gift for his birthday]




I hope you like them and any tips on where to go with the metallics will be appreciated. I'm thinking of a Boltgun Metal base darkened a little with Chaos Black then layering until Mithril Silver as the topmost highlight.

Here are some updates:

A wash of Future/water [50/50] and some Chaos Black was applied to the converted GKs.





The same was done to the GK gift.



Work was also started on the purity seals of the above models. Scorched brown and Scab red were applied.

Thank you for the kind words. Please feel free to look at the other pictures I posted here. At the moment, my skill isn't anywhere near the masters level but with practice and time, anyone can get to that level.

Here are a few updates folks.

Here, I've basecoated my Grey Knights with 2 parts Chaos Black, 1 part Boltgun Metal, then washed with 1 part Pledge Wipe and Shine, 1 part water, 1 part Chaos Black:


Here are the metal Grey Knights basecoated and washed the same way:




More to come after I get some sleep. Got work in the morning.

Hi folks,

Here is another update. Metals are almost done. The finish is a bit grainy because the primer was not sprayed on properly. I'm hoping that a layer of Wipe and Shine will even it out.










Please feel free to offer suggestions on how to proceed.
