Ok for comparison lang, back in pinas I was earning slightly higher than 50k a month, pero after all expenses - rent, gasolina para sa sakyanan, withholding tax, pag-ibig, electricity and water bills, etc.... a 50+K a month will only give you 30K of take home pay, I have car and home loan amortization after that pa gyud so mga 20K na lang gyud after expenses and all. Here in SG, you get to earn 3x as much pero mas dako ang cost of living. I don't drive here, I travel via MRT and busses, so tipid sa transpo. I get to share an apartment with other IT prof, although normally ang mga apartments diri if you live in a 3 bedroom condo would be about $1500, so tag 500 mi each. Monthly expenses can be as low as SGD 1000, if you cook and don't frequently eat outside for lunch and dinner. Singapore has the lowest income tax, so negligible ra ang tax. Typical sweldo sa mga IT prof with at least 3 years experience is about SGD $3800 minus expenses at SGD $1000, naa kay SGD $2800 as take home pay (that's about PHP 86,000) a month. Bottom line is - it depends on your lifestyle. So dependi ra gyud na nimo ug unsa-on nimo pag gasto sa imong kwarta, madako o magamay imong sweldo ...
