Luke 2:34-35:and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is spoken against (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed."

    The Holy Rosary

A beautiful prayer. It is also an attempt to look at the life of Christ through the eyes of Mary. Most words are taken from Scripture, "Hail full of grace...blessed are you among women."

It is not to be rushed through for if we do, we will miss the action of the Holy Spirit to work the gospel into our hearts.
Good night everyone and may God bless us all!

    OUR LADY OF BANNEUX
    Virgin of the Poor

(The Virgin of the Poor - Banneaux, Belgium 1933)

Twelve days after the last apparition of Our Lady of Beauraing, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in nearby Banneux in the Diocese of Liége, Belgium. On that January 15, 1933, the Bishop of Liége had consecrated his diocese in a most solemn manner in honor of the Mother of God under the title of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This consecration was done in response to the apparitions at Fatima. Near the same hour, the Blessed Virgin appeared to Mariette Beco, a child eleven years of age, whose father was a socialist and did not practice his Faith. (He was converted during the apparitions.)

Our Lady appeared eight times in the afternoon, in the family garden, where Mariette awaited her praying the Rosary. On four occasions she beckoned Mariette to follow her down a nearby road to a spring. Here she instructed Mariette, as she had instructed Saint Bernadette, to dip her hands into the water.

She revealed, "I am the Virgin of the Poor; this spring is reserved for the sick of all nations. I come to relieve those who suffer." Our Lady asked for a small chapel. When Mariette related the apparition to the parish chaplain, he asked for a sign before he would believe. After Mariette petitioned this of Our Lady, she responded, "Believe in me; I shall believe in you." The chaplain was not satisfied with this and secretly said to himself, if the Lady answers, "I am the Mother of the Savior~the Mother of God," he would believe.

At the last apparition Our Lady repeated these very words, which are now emblazoned in the Shrine. While leaving Mariette, Our Lady placed her hand on Mariette's head, blessed her and confided a secret as she had done to other seers, and said, "Pray very much. Adieu." Ecclesiastical approval was given by the Bishop on August 22, 1949. The water of the spring has been attested by many miracles in healing the sick.

Visionary Mariette Beco (age 11 at apparition)

    Timeline

    March 25, 1921

Mariette Beco was born the eldest of a family of seven children in a Catholic working family, who, however, did not practice their religion. She dwelt in a house isolated on the plateau of the Ardennes, along the route of Pepinster.

    Jan 15, 1933

For two months Mariette had not gone to church. She sees through the window of her house a beautiful and luminous lady with a Rosary in her hands . Her mother caught a glimpse of something, but forbade the girl to look at the vision. Mariette became pious and restarted her catechism.

    Jan 16, 1933

Mariette and a friend go to see the parish priest who dismisses her as trying to copy the Beauraing apparitions.

    Jan 18, 1933

The Virgin appears a second time and leads Mariette from her house to a spring ("Shove your hands in the water") which she says would bring healing to all nations.

    Jan 19, 1933

As Mariette prays the Rosary, The Virgin appears for the fourth time and identifies herself as "The Virgin of the Poor".

    Jan 20, 1933

The Virgin appears for the fourth time and requests that a small chapel be built on the site.

    Feb 11, 1933

The Virgin appears for the fifth time.

    Feb 15, 1933

The Virgin appears for the sixth time while Mariette prays the Rosary with her mother and friends. Mariette asks for a sign but is only encouraged to "Believe in me."

    Feb 20, 1933

The Virgin appears for the seventh time and encourages her to "Pray much."

    March 2, 1933

The Virgin appears for the eighth and final time. "I am the Mother of the Saviour, the Mother of God. Pray much. Adieu."

    1933

The Little Chapel was built and inaugurated.

    1935

Investigations by an Episcopal commission begin.

    1937

The evidence collected by the comission is submitted to Rome.

    January 2, 1942

The Holy Office had in effect given to these bishops the liberty to "judge these extraordinary events." Msgr. Kerkhofs, bishop of Liege, immediately lifted the restrictions, and promulgated full and entire authorization for practicing the "cult" which to that point had been simply tolerated.

    March 25, 1942

Cardinal Van Roy, primate of Belgium, intervened to exclude all the apparitions which had abounded in Belgium, except Beauraing and Banneux, which were being examined by their respective bishops (Namur and Liege).

    May 1942

Bishop Msgr. Louis-Joseph Kerkhofs of Liege approves the cult of the Virgin of the Poor.

    1947

    The apparitions receive preliminary approval.

    Aug 22, 1949

    The apparitions receive final approval.

lemme share this beautiful song from the Jesuits

    Maria, Bukang-Liwayway

    Birheng Maria, bukang-liwayway
Sinilang mo si Hesus, Araw ng mundo
    Sana'y ilawan mo aming buhay
    At landas naming nalilito

In relation to Korz's post above on the Holy House of Loreto, this person below here came to mind.

Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich who had never been to Ephesus claimed to have stark details on the location of the Blessed Mother's house. The place which is located in Ephesus, Turkey is now a chapel and considered a shrine by three Popes.
