Common sense (intuition, premonition, hunch, instinct, feel) is founded on prior knowledge or experience.
Education gives knowledge or is a catalyst for experience. Example, performing a science experiment in a laboratory is actually learning an experience from others.
Don't separate knowledge and education from common sense.
Therefore, good education develops a solid foundation of common sense.

i am of the hopeful opinion that the widespread use of the internet and the influence of the media would have made the concept of "googling" and "online research" COMMON sense.

but, given replies such as yours, i might be too hopeful

the problem with most people is that when they get news through whatever medium, they don't take time to check with other reliable sources. 2 seconds after they receive some sort of scary news, they forward it to all people they can get a hold of. panic ensues. a few hours after, we're tagged gullible, as a race. *sigh*

as Filipinos, we ought to do something about this and not just laugh it off.

people should be skeptic and should not be stereotype

being stereotype separates each one of us thus slowing unity
