If DSL is available in your area, better go for wire. A lot of factors affect the wireless network especially the 802.11 technology.
First and the major issue is the RF interference. Even cordless phones could disconnect the link if it operates on the same frequency with the wireless equipment. With the fast growing demand for wireless, ISM frequency here which 802.11 is using is getting congested each passing day. Some even go for the 5GHz instead of the 2.4GHz just to avoid interference.
Second is the climatic condition. Any changes in weather condition may affect the receive signal quality of your wireless equipment. If the antenna is mounted in a high pole, the risk of lightning strike during thunderstorms is high unless everything is grounded and lightning protection is properly installed.
But if DSL is not available, then better go for wireless than having no internet access at all.

hey guys,
im trying to weigh my options on what ISP to connect with and smart BRO is an option. Can anyone tell me unsay iya performance kung mag ulan? is it true na muhinay? kanang actual experience ha dili theoretical...

semi-OT:
@tackielarla: if naa kay makakuha ka og non-wireless based nga broadband nga connection, then pick that instead. Also Globelines broadband is gradually increasing bandwidth available to it's subscribers starting with the lowest plan. Ang lowest plan karon will now have 512 nga speed
problema ko dude is wala pay Globelines sa area nako eh. Im here in Cabancalan, Mandaue... sounds impossible, but true...Originally Posted by cooldude75ph
