FIBA America qualifiers


The top two teams in the qualifier will automatically advance to the 2008 Olympics while the teams finishing third, fourth and fifth will qualify for the 12-team FIBA World Qualifying tournament which will determine the last three teams for the Olympics.

I think it was based on the current FIBA rankings and the number of countries each region represent.

yeah but even the number of teams per continent even shows that bias eh..hehehe...hopefully they will make steps toward making Olympic competition na mas fair qualifying...even if rankings gamiton how could vastly improved teams from Asia even get better rankings in the world stage if they are confined to playing only at the Asian level since only 1 or 2 Asian teams shall qualify for the world stage?

thats what i mean biased kaayo ang americas mas daghan jud makarepresent kita maskin dako kaayo improvement sa Asian teams we are confined to play only 3 or 4 slots at most sila 3 daan ang sigurado, pwede pa cguro mahimong 6..hahayz
